Have you registered your dog’s microchip? Are you sure the registered contact details are up-to-date? In the Republic of Ireland you will need to have ALL your details up to date in order to obtain an official government approved Certificate that the chip has been implanted and the details registered.
Fido staff can compare the known details (if any) against the details you provide to resolve any discrepancy, and make it possible to offer you a legally required Certificate of Registration. The Certificate is valid for the life of the dog, or until the owner details change. Registration with Fido also comes with the bonus of the reunification service to assist in reuniting you with your dog if it strays or is stolen.
There is a small administration fee for issuing a new or replacement certificate. If your dog is already in Fido’s reunification database, you will qualify for a reduced fee. You will be contacted by email after Fido staff have examined your case and determined the next step. (Fido aims to keep administrative fees to the minimum.)
